1. What in the world are Mele Macs?
Mele Macs are chocolate Macadamia Nuts as you’ve never tasted them before. We start with 100% Hawaii-grown Macadamia Nuts, nurtured at the Island Princess orchard on the slopes of majestic Mauna Kea. They are then coated with the highest quality toffee, generously drenched with a custom-blended, rich milk chocolate and delicately dusted with powdered sugar. In Hawaii, we call Mele Macs ono (delicious)!

Throughout the state of Hawaii, a variety of Island Princess products can be found at ABC Stores, Costco, Don Quijote, Kmart, Longs Stores, Walgreens, Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart, Military Exchanges and Commissaries, hotel gift shops and many independent stores. You can also visit the Island Princess Factory Outlet Store at 2846 Ualena Street in the airport area of Honolulu. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. 4. How long does it take to receive my order?
January through October please allow 7 – 10 business days for your Island Princess order to arrive. During the busy holiday months of November and December, plan on 10 – 14 business days for your order to arrive. At an additional cost, arrangements can be made for express methods of shipping. If you are planning for a special occasion, please plan well in advance, as we are not able to guarantee an exact arrival date.

 

5. What is the cost of shipping and handling?

We ship most orders by FedEx Ground. Air freight is available at individually quoted rates. The shipping cost shown is per recipient, per shipping address in the U.S.

6. How will my order ship?
For reliable delivery and ease of tracking, Island Princess ships most orders by FedEx Ground. At an additional cost, arrangements can be made for express methods of shipping. This request can be made in the "comments" box on the Customer Information page as you complete your order. 

 

7. Can I track my order with the shipping company?
Yes. Island Princess will notify you by e-mail of your tracking number. Then, just call 1-800-GoFedEx or log on to FedEx.com to track your order.

 

8. Do you ship to APO's and FPO's?
Yes. Island Princess is happy to ship your order to APO's and FPO's by U.S. Postal Service, Priority Service. The cost is the actual cost of postage, plus insurance.

 

9. What do I do if my order arrives damaged or doesn’t arrive at all?
Contact Island Princess immediately and we will take steps to file a claim with the shipping company. After the claim has been processed, we will work with you to determine if you want the order to reship. We will only reship your order with your approval. Complete details are explained in our Terms & Conditions section.

 

10. Must I pay by credit card?
You may pay for your Island Princess order with Visa or Mastercard, on-line or by e-mail, telephone or FAX. We also accept personal checks by mail. C.O.D. orders are not available.

 

11. Is a quantity discount available?
You can enjoy more scrumptious Island Princess products for less by taking advantage of our 20% case discount. Order a full case of your favorite treat, or combine items of like size and price to complete a full case.

 

12. My credit card statement list a charge from Orchard Heights Winery in Oregon. Why?
Orchard Heights Winery, located just outside of Salem, Oregon, is another division of our parent company. Island Princess products are made at our factory in Honolulu. Because we do our very best to find the least expensive way to ship our delicious products to you in a timely manner, most orders are sent from our winery.

 

13. If my order is sent from Honolulu, is the cost of shipping higher than if it ships from Oregon?
There is no additional cost for orders that ship from the Island Princess factory in Honolulu.

 

14. Can Island Princess ship my order internationally?
In most cases, we are able to ship an international order. Contact us for details and cost of shipping at info@IslandPrincessHawaii.com or toll free at 888-925-5222 Ext. 214.

 

15. Does Island Princess have a privacy policy?
Yes, out of respect for our valued customers, you can trust Island Princess to maintain confidential records. Information will not be shared beyond what is necessary to fill your order quickly and professionally.

 

16. What is a “heat waiver?”
A Heat Waiver is a written understanding that Island Princess is not responsible for any heat damage that may occur during shipping. As with all fine chocolates, Island Princess chocolates are heat sensitive. Unfortunately, no parcel carrier is able to insure against heat damage. In order to be certain you understand this sensitivity, we ask that you accept our “heat waiver” as part of your ordering process.

 

17. Is “Chocolate Bloom” an edible tropical flower?
Not exactly. Blooming flowers, especially in Hawaii, can be wonderfully exotic. In chocolate however, bloom is not quite so lovely. “Bloom” occurs when chocolate has been exposed to heat causing it to turn dull or possibly even to have a gray or white color. The chocolates are perfectly fine to eat; they just aren’t as pretty as when they left the Island Princess factory.

 

18. Should I refrigerate Island Princess products when they arrive?
Chocolates are very sensitive to heat; however, refrigeration is not recommended. Island Princess chocolates are at their best when kept at 70 – 75 degrees, the same temperature as a tradewind-cooled evening in Hawaii. Our Macadamia Nuts and caramel popcorns will maintain their quality up to 85 degrees, the temperature of a picture-perfect sunny day in Hawaii.

 

19. What is the shelf life of Island Princess products?
Island Princess Macadamia Nuts and confections are so delicious, they will disappear from your cupboard wikiwiki (quickly). When stored in a closed container at the proper temperature, you can count on freshness of at least 18 months for our chocolates, eight months for our caramel popcorns and six months for our Macadamia Nuts.

 

20. Where are Island Princess Macadamia Nuts grown?
Island Princess is one of Hawaii’s top growers of Macadamia Nuts. Our Macadamia Nuts are lovingly grown, hand picked and processed on the slopes of Mauna Kea at the Island Princess 1,100-acre orchard at Keaau on The Big Island of Hawaii. The natural conditions are ideal for growing Macadamia Nuts of exceptional quality and flavor. Please visit our Macadamia Nut Orchard.

 

21. Does Island Princess offer factory tours?
Island Princess does not offer factory tours, but we cordially invite you to visit our Factory Outlet Store at 2846 Ualena Street in the airport area of Honolulu. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

 

22. Does Island Princess offer sugar-free products?
Island Princess does not have sugar-free products at this time.

 

23. Are Island Princess products Kosher Certified?
No, Island Princess products are not Kosher Certified at this time.
